First time try with Textmaker and it crashed

Post by alex_rhys-hurn »

Following some positive review on sites like OMGUbuntu, I thought I would give this a try. I am an openoffice user since the early 90ś and now normally use Libreoffice fresh.

The first time I tried Textmaker, I opened it and type a few lines, no problem.

Then I thought I would open a contract that is fairly large, and has many edits and comments between me and the lawyers, going back and forth.

A few seconds after opening the document, textmaker froze as did the other window with the few lines I typed. And it has stayed frozen.

After approx 15 Minutes though the software started responding again, and I can use it as normal.

The document is only 27 pages long, and has 135 comments in it.

Why does this happen? I will have to stick with Libreoffice if this carries on.

Alex

PS My Current System:
Fedora 27
Softmaker Freeoffice rev 931.0515 64bit
