Inserting cells and choosing what properties new cells have

Post by degeneration »

Simple query - when I insert cells in part of a row and have the other cells move down, the new inserted cells have the same properties as the cells above them.

In MS Excel there's a little thing at the side of the new cells giving the option to copy the properties of the cells above or the cells below the new cells.

In the spreadsheet I use, I want them to have the properties of the cells below. So at the moment after inserting the cells I have to manually change everything.

Is there somewhere where you can either set the default for the properties for inserted cells to copy those below them rather than above, or somewhere that has the option like in MS Excel?

Currently, this option is not available, but you can use format painter to format the inserted cells with the format of below cells.

Thanks for the reply.

Are there any plans to incorporate such functionality in the program?

Thanks for your suggestion. We don't have plans for this, but I have forwarded this new feature request to our product management...
