I think there are several open source solvers for spreadsheets. If John W. Foreman (“Data Smart”, Wiley, 2014) is to believed some of them are better than the solver supplied with Excel (which, apparently, has been somewhat crippled in more recent versions of Excel).

I wondered if it would be possible to include one of the open source solvers with PlanMaker, or at least offer an explanation of how it might be installed by the user? This suggestion is not limited to the Windows version of PlanMaker - it would be great to have a solver in the Linux and Mac versions as well.
