Trendline Problem

Post by RussHitomi »

When I prepare a scatter diagram and draw, say, a linear trendline and I show the formula used to make the line I am having trouble interperting the formula. For example my last graph I see the formula: y=123.35x+1.6921e+06.

I am familiar with algebra and somewhat familiar with exponentials. the y=123.35x means the constant times a "x" value. But the next part confuses me. does it mean 1.6921 times e to the 6th power?

In PlanMaker and Excel 1.6921e+06 = 1.6921 * 10^6 = 1.6921 * 100000 = 1692100
