FreeOffice - License for commercial use

Post by khin »

Hello, Understand from the website that the Softmaker Office for Windows is free for commercial use, is there any limitation in number of computers can be installed? I notice we can use one key on up to 3 computers after register with the email. Can I use the same email to get more product key?

For commercial use, you need to request a separate product key for each computer. But, yes, this can be done any number of times from the same e-mail address.

Hi Martin,

Noted about separate product key for each computer. Is there any limitation on number of devices can be installed for an organization?

No, feel free to use as many as you want.

Note that you could make your life easier by using the commercial version SoftMaker Office Professional, where one product key can serve all computers. If you are interested in discussing that, send an e-mail to sales(at)softmaker.com

Hi Martin,

When opening the Microsoft Office file in Google shared drive, there will be a message to let user know if it is safe to edit or should wait to edit to avoid version conflict. Is any of the commercial version has this feature with Google drive?

At least when you open a document from a local disk or a network drive, SoftMaker Office keeps the document open (like Microsoft Office does), so that others trying to open the same file receive a warning. If that mechanism works with Google Drive, I don't know.
