Can only one file be open at a time?

Post by gallicbear » Mon Feb 20, 2017 12:46 am

Hi. I am new to FreeOffice; I used to work with LibreOffice or with OpenOffice. So I notice that when I open a file, then try to open another one, the first one is gone of my screen. It's as if only ONE file can be open at the same time. Am I doing something wrong? Sometimes I need to have 2 or 3 document files open at the same time, to take information from each one.
Is there a setting I need to change or does FreeOffice have this limitation? Thank you in advance for your help.

There are both files open at the same time. Just click on "Window" in the menu to see the other open file(s). Document tabs like in MS Office are not available in FreeOffice but in SoftMaker Office:

And if the Window menu really just shows one file, you have probably unchecked the option "New window" in File/New or File/Open.
