Christmas card list - mail merger problem

Post by divaddrof » Fri Dec 15, 2017 9:20 pm

I had to print some Christmas names and addresses - from various word documents, sent by my daughter in the US.
So I tried using the excel sheet as the source - but couldn't get it to work. Maybe my fault, see below.
I exported the excel sheet (from Plankamer) as a csv file - and use that OK - but I had to fix the file - the xls file had the first row blank (instead of column names) - this might have caused the previous problem.

When I selected a range to print with Print Merge - it worked fine,
But when I selected a particular record with the Properties dialog and then tried to merge print just the Selected record - it tried to print the whole list instead of the one I selected. Is there another way to select a record?

The text of one record had a name with a cedilla under the c and this did not translate to the different linux font.

So far - not bad.
Printed and merged greetings insert from csv
Printed and merged address labels
Looks good!

Hope this helps

Please save the Excel file as .dbf file (dBase). This file format is supported by TextMaker for databases.
