Mail Merge using Evolution

Post by GrouchyGaijin » Fri Feb 05, 2016 10:32 pm

Hi Folks,

I looked through the manual and here in the forums, but still have a question regarding mail merge.
Based on what I saw in the manual it seems that mail merge only offers the option of printing the merged document (or faxing it if you are in Windows).
Is there a way to use SoftMaker Office 2016 for Linux to mail merge a document and then email that document via Evolution? I am thinking of something similar to the way mail merge in Word works with Outlook.

I got everything to work right up to the point where I hoped TextMaker would take my document and send it to my email program. That is where I could only find the option of printing the merged document.

The reason I want to use Evolution is that I can connect to my office Exchange server via Evolution.
This would really make my day if I could get this to work.

Thank you,

this is only possible if Evolution supports dBase (dbf) database files. These can be created with PlanMaker.
You can also import csv-files with PlanMaker and export them to dbf.
