Using .tgz package for installation

Post by GeroldBr » Wed Jul 13, 2016 7:53 pm

I tried to install Softmaker Office 2016 on Salix 14.2 (a Slackware derivative) using the .tgz package. I've extracted the archive and changed into the directory (named 'softmaker-office-2016-757). After starting 'installsmoffice' I answered a couple of questions and then the installation was stopped with this message: "./office.tgz not found. Installation aborted." Well, the file 'office.tgz' was available within the same directory.

What's wrong?

Have you started the installation with ./installsmoffice (with ./) and with root permissions?

Yes, I started the installation with ./installsmoffice (with ./) and both as user and with root permissions.

I will check that and inform our developers. Thank you!

As a workaround you may use one of the Linux distributions we tested:
