.bak file question

Post by hazelsteph1 » Tue Feb 28, 2017 2:32 am

I am new to FreeOffice. Every time I save changes to a document in TextMaker or PlanMaker it creates an additional .bak file in the same file folder. Is there any way to prevent this? Otherwise, I will have to delete them each time so the folder doesn't get bogged down with .bak files.
Thank you!!

In Tools > Options..., tab "Files", you may disable “Create backup files". But keep in mind that then you will have no backup if a document gets corrupted. In the full version of SoftMaker Office there are many more options for creating backup files, including saving multiple versions and the possibility to save the .bak files to a special folder instead of the document folder.

Just installed latest version of FreeOffice 2016 (1.0.3835) and Textmaker creates .bak file despite option “Create backup files" in disabled.
Furthermore if I enable “Create backup files" this option is not saved. Does it have to be like that?
PlanMaker and Presentations seem to work fine.
