Remove hidden Smash icons from SysTray ?

Post by bawldiggle » Sat Dec 16, 2017 9:38 am

Trialing "Softmaker FreeOffice 2016 (rev 767.0516)

- I clicked ... Utilities -> Smash ... and waited for something to show.
- found this Softmaker v2006 thread smash.exe
- checked my Sys.Tray and found two Softmaker icons for Writer and Planner, hidden in sys.tray
- the 2009 solution by sven-1 has not helped
- ... Smash.exe is not listed on my msconfig.exe list
- nor is it listed on "SysInternals - AutoRuns" as User (or Administrator)

How do I remove the SysTray items ?
- I don't think it is wise to delete "Smash.exe" until I get more experienced with SoftMaker Office
- I know how to remove the Smash shortcut on Programs -> SoftMaker FreeOffice 2016 -> Utilities -> Smash
Smash is configured to not run at OS startup

I only discovered "SoftMaker 24 hours ago and downloaded today
I would appreciate any help, thank you :)

You ran a "full" install instead of a standard install. This gives you all components, even Smash which is not needed in Windows 7 anymore.

Uninstall the program, install it again as a standard install.
