Opening doc file from Dropbox

Opening doc file from Dropbox
I have been accustomed to prepare word files in the full, paid-for, version of Textmaker and then save them to Dropbox. In a meeting I would set up my phone with a folding blue-tooth keyboard and open the prepared file straight from the 'recent files' zone in dopbox. I could then use CTL-S at regular intervals. This was very efficient. I have now upgraded phones so that I have gone from KitKat to Nougat (7.0) and this no longer works, since the file identity is now lost on opening. I can work round this by opening the file direct from Textmaker but this involves a deal of navigation up and down the file tree. Is there any chance of restoring the original functionality?

Are you opening the files directly from the Dropbox app? This is not supported.

Yes. It worked under KitKat. Perhaps it would be a good enhancement?sven-l wrote:Are you opening the files directly from the Dropbox app? This is not supported.

On the same topic, I now find that I cannot open files in Dropbox from Textmaker, nor can I save them. I get
I have not had this problem before, though I can of course work round it at some loss of temper. It means that I have no common space between Textmaker professional on my workstation and Textmaker mobile.

Please try it with TextMaker HD Basic from the Playstore (it's free). Does it work with that version?

Thank you, it does, though the tablet version is very crowded on the small screen of a Samsung s7 edge! Do I need to keep using this version?

Re: Opening doc file from Dropbox
Just like to add that I have the same problem both with Dropbox and Sync. It used to work with older versions of Android and it works with TextMaker HD, so please can I also request that it's fixed?

Re: Opening doc file from Dropbox
This cannot be fixed in the Mobile version. Dropbox changed their API, and their new libraries don't support Android 2.3 anymore, which is the minimum supported version of TextMaker Mobile.
We are working on a new version for Android that supports only more modern versions of Android, and then Dropbox can be used again.
This is not a problem for SoftMaker Office HD which needs Android 4 or higher.
