Re: A2 format

Saw this only today. Sorry for the belated reaction. If you use images, use high definition images. Just like TextMaker, PlanMaker can handle WMF vector graphics. You can use Inkscape to vectorize bitmap-images and even to export them to WMF. As long as SVG is not supported, WMF is an acceptable “ W...

Re: Encrypt a file

Second question: Why are encrypted files presented as CDFV2 ? A coincidence ?

Code: Select all

User@machine:~$ file Saint_Morice_Août_2019.docx
Saint_Morice_Août_2019.docx: CDFV2 Encrypted

Feature-Request: Reload Configuration

Hi. PSE comment on the idea to enable each office program to read its current configuration file (.*config.ini) at any point in time, e.g. after the user has clicked a button or chosen the pertinent menu-option. I would not mind the function to be available as a user-defined shortcut, only. The idea...

Re: Encrypt a file

The hints on the dialog are talking about docx, doc and tmd. I venture that AES256 is used for TMDX, too.

But can you confirm this ?

Re: Searching for text inside TMDX files

Miguel got it entirely right.., then withdrew from the affair, leaving you in an awful mess to sort out on your own... I feel with both of you. So, as could be derived from the referenced discussion, you have to unzip the tmdx-file. Do this in a folder that you can remove afterwards, or directly in ...

Re: Native Dialogs in Xubuntu, yahoo!

This will freeze your session and brick your computer While bricking a “computer“ is an option for machines running embedded systems that are difficult to access in other ways than those suggested by the system, I deem the above statement a blatant exaggeration of no informational value. (and this ...

Feature request: Define standard border thickness

Good afternoon. I rarely use the border dialog, meaning, that I rarely define individual borders but rather apply the proposed, pre-defined borders as they are selectable from the border dropdown. As most of those sheets, where I actually need borders, are meant for presentation to a group of people...

Re: .docx translation issues - spacing and missing image

That's cool ! ;) Much for the same reasons that I pointed out in the other response in the General Forum. I have found out that TextMaker interprets white-space in the “ source code ” (na. But I cannot write “XML” too often or people die of heart-attacks, again) of documents. For the time, this conc...

Re: MS Word claims TM file corrupted

MORE NEW INFO: This seems to be a .DOCX vs. .DOC issue. I saved the problem document as a .DOC file in TM for Linux and it opened fine in Word for Windows. The file is much larger in .DOC format, but it opened without issue in Word on two different Windows computers. If the DOCX file format is caus...

Re: Substitute font

Font-substitutions are a system-wide setting in Linux. There appear to be several ways to define substitution fonts, one is explained here . It looks quite efficient and even provides some background on how fonts are managed in the first place. A similar article, more Debian centered but probably of...

Suggestion: Allow font-setting for printing

Good afternoon, all. This topic will not interest everybody. I seldom need spreadsheet data printed out on paper. But as often as I really print them, I have to tell me afterwards: “ Oh dummy! Once again, you forgot to replace the non-serif font against something more readable (on paper). ” To avoid...

Re: Page break view

And in your opinion, what should be the behavior of a spreadsheet program, when the horizontal size of a page imposes that content be moved to an additional page..? Does it ask for your decision or is the result imposed and, thus, improved by trial and error..? I guess that most open questions could...

Re: Enhancement: Images in HTML / ALT-Text

Just for completion. I notice that my above script fragment cannot be used “as is” and may lead to false results when bereft of context. As it would need too much words to talk about that, to avoid too much off-topic gibberish and for a real “proof of concept”, here is the entire script: #!/bin/bash...

As I return to the forum only today, I had not noticed that you have translated your previous response into English. My following remarks make sense only if you know this, but I prefer keeping the content intact. It goes as follows for now merely historical reasons: ---------------------------------...
