Does TextMaker 2024 have anything comparable to the Word Art feature in Microsoft Word?

Fonts?
When running TextMaker from a USB drive away from home -- on a computer other than the one on which the USB installation was created -- is the font selection based on what's installed on the host computer, or does the USB installation bring with it the fonts from the "home" computer?

Re: THE FIRST LETTER OF ALL LEFT-MARGINED TITLES ARE NOT PRINTED
Well, it was a thought. I have tried to duplicate this using FreeOffice 2021 for Windows and I can't make it happen. Some other thoughts: Does changing the font size make a difference? Does changing to a different font make a difference? Rather than using the built-in PDF export function, what happe...

Re: THE FIRST LETTER OF ALL LEFT-MARGINED TITLES ARE NOT PRINTED
Off the wall thought about what to check:
Are you using styles, with a style configured for titles? If so, check the paragraph format for the Titles style and see if you might have set indentation to a negative value.

A repeat request for future versions
Some time ago I made a request for Softmaker Office to add a database module, to allow SoftMaker Office to compete more equally with Microsoft Office and LibreOffice (and OpenOffice). The reply I received then was that TextMaker includes a database function. Well, yes, it does. But it's extremely li...

Re: FreeOffice 2021 quit working
You mentioned that you are running Windows 11. A couple of recent Windows 11 updates have been buggy. Try rolling back the last one or two updates, then try re-installing FreeOffice.

Re: Wish list for future versions of SMO
Just a comment that I support this. I also would like to completely transition from Microsoft Office to SoftMaker Office. Although I have purchased SoftMaker Office 2024, I cannot completely break from maintaining Microsoft Office 2019 on my computers because there are still some things that TextMak...

Re: Strange font substitution
Disclaimer: I'm working under Windows, not Linux. I did some further investigation. I format books for print-on-demand publishing, both for myself and for other authors. Proper book formatting involves the use of styles, so I opened up a couple of files for finished books that have been fully format...

Re: Strange font substitution
Curious. When I open that file in Word 2019, as you reported everything appears in Calibri. When I open it in TextMaker 2024, the first e-mail address (only, not the others) appears in Times New Roman. In TextMaker, everything has the same style tag: Normal. However, when I open the file in Word 201...

Re: I want January 2 not one half
Instead of the slash, try entering the date as 1-2-24 ("one-dash-two-dash-twentyfour")CountMountjoy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 12:22 am Thank you. It would be nice if it saw that a cell was formatted for a date and assumed I wanted a date not fraction.
No need to deprogram the autocorrect for the fraction "1/2"

Ligatures?
As I do more book design and publishing, I would like to keep improving my output. I'm a member of an Internet forum devoted to typography (run by a German gentleman named Ralf Herrmann) on which some recent discussions have touched on ligatures. Ralf designs digital fonts, so he knows more about li...

Hyperlinks don't work
I have a book manuscript that uses hyperlinks to each chapter head in the table of contents, preparatory to converting the manuscript to an e-book. The manuscript was created in Microsoft Word 2019, and the hyperlinks work in Word. When I open the file in TextMaker 2024, the links don't work. They w...
