Installation Error on OpenSuse Tumbleweed

I've always used Debian based systems since RedHat went "commerical", but I wanted to try a rolling release and thought I'd give Tumbleweed a try. While installing Softmaker Oifice I got the following complaint. I chose to Ignore. Not being as familiar with Tumbleweed or RPM management, wa...

Re: Bug: Touchscreen Scrolling Doesn't Work with Wayland

Yeah, but I'm not sure what your point is? Softmaker works fine with Xorg and will continue to. Meanwhile, touchscreens are ubiquitous. I expect you will see distros like Kubuntu default to Wayland with 22.04. Wayland is enabled by default on Fedora's Gnome and likewise on RHEL 8. Between Redhat and...

Also would urge the developers to add an English Language grammar checker.

Re: Bug: Touchscreen Scrolling Doesn't Work with Wayland

Thanks. This would be a niche problem, I suppose, but Ubuntu has made Wayland their default display manager. I was just using Textmaker yesterday, out and about on my Surface Go, and wished that I could scroll with the touchscreen.

Can confirm that this bug also applies to Plasma running Wayland.

Bug: Touchscreen Scrolling Doesn't Work with Wayland

Installed Ubuntu/with Wayland on my MS Surface Go. While nearly every other application, with the exception of one other Xorg app, allows me to scroll via the Touchscreen, Softmaker Office reverts to Xorg behavior, treating a finger scroll as a "text selection" gesture rather than a scroll...

Creating a Master Document?

Is this not possible in Softmaker? The search returns nothing in the help file and I can't find anything useful on the web.

BUG: Can't remove hyperlink from text in header/footer

Was adding an email address to my footer and Softmaker absolutely insists on making it a hyperlink. Right clicking gives me the footer context menu but no way to remove the link. I tried the workaround of creating the address in the body of the text (without a hyperlink), then pasting the address in...

Re: Equation editor

Given that this request has been forwarded to the development team ever since I first started reading this forum (six or seven years now?) I think one can safely assert that this feature won't be appearing in Linux. The statement that this will be forwarded to the development team, as if this reques...

Textmaker in Plasma

I've introduced my daughter to Textmaker since she's started college. Libreoffice's compatibility with Word just wasn't cutting it. Anyway, she's an OCD scientist in the making. :) We've noticed that when she opens a preexisting document from the desktop or file manager (with the open in separate wi...

Re: Thanks for your work on the Linux Version | & Feature Req.

Thanks. Glad to hear about SO on Android. Additionally, I appreciate that the Android SO interface looks as full featured as the desktop version, but would love an option to switch to a vastly simplified and uncluttered interface when mainly writing.

Thanks for your work on the Linux Version | & Feature Req.

It's been a while since I've posted here. Just wanted to give a thumbs up for all the improvements made to SO for Linux. Will definitely be investing in your next version. That said, I had to quit using it just over a year ago due to some bugs that have since been sorted out. Since I use multiple de...

Re: Problem with Brazilian Portuguese characters

No it didn't. Alas. I upgraded and tested. The behavior is odd. In the latest version, I can still create the following characters, äàá for example. But I can't create an en-dash – or an em-dash — (among other symbols). I can't really say what's going on, but SO-931 (the latest version) obviously in...

Re: Problem with Brazilian Portuguese characters

This is great news. :)

Martin, maybe Softmaker should consider a "Known Issues" Document with Linux installations so this sort of issue doesn't get dragged out like this in the future? Just my 2 farthings. Prospective users would certainly appreciate it.
