Re: Printing DYMO labels
Jossi, Excellent! The Ctrl-E "fix" seems to work. Here are steps that I'm now using, which assume that the database was already selected at some earlier time: 1. Start TextMaker and open a docx file containing a 1-cell table of the appropriate page size & margins and with the text rota...

Re: Printing DYMO labels
Jossi,
It occurred to me that perhaps my DOCX "template" document isn't "attached" properly to my one and only database. Is there some step that needs to be taken to do this "attachment"? Thanks again, Wayne

Re: Printing DYMO labels
Jossi, Thanks for the clarification! I think I've ALMOST got the Dymo label printing working, but there is still one "hangup". Even though I go to Mailings > Select recipients and click the box next to the desired record, the File > Print preview shows the label with a different (earlier) ...

Re: Printing DYMO labels
I'm afraid I'm stuck on the first step! I'm using the "ribbon" interface so View > Toolbars does not offer the option of showing a Mail merge toolbar . I tried going to File > Customize > Customize ribbon... but couldn't find any mention of a Mail merge toolbar! Hopefully, there is some wa...

Re: Printing DYMO labels
Jossi, Thanks - your method is certainly simpler! The problem now is in step 6 where the desired database record needs to be selected. My database of names & addresses contains a couple of hundred entries sorted by last name. It can take a long time to move through those entries one at a time - ...

Re: Printing DYMO labels
I can set up a 1-cell table, set rotation to 270 degrees, and paste in the address information. The problem I'm having now is how to paste the contents of a selected database record into the table without going through a large number of steps as listed below. I don't have much experience using TextM...

Re: Printing DYMO labels
Dymo labels are used in a Dymo thermal printer that prints one label at a time. These is no option for rotating the direction of printing. It is really necessary to print in PORTRAIT mode but with text rotated 270 degrees. Normally I would print these labels using Dymo's own software but that is not...

Printing DYMO labels
Folks, I'm trying to use Textmaker's label printing ability to print Dymo shipping labels using addresses stored in a TextMaker database. The only problem is that the text for the label needs to be rotated in order to print correctly. (Otherwise, the address is printed ACROSS the label rather than A...

USBSTICK.EXE flagged as Malware
This morning I noticed that my daily Malwarebytes scan flagged USBSTICK.EXE as Malware! Since I'm not using the portable version of Softmaker Office I let Malwarebytes quarantine that EXE file, but I'm wondering if this is just a false positive from Malwarebytes or if USBSTICK.EXE got contaminated i...

Re: Adding CSV data file to an existing spreadsheet?
I suspect the first approach of copying the new entries into the "master" worksheet is probably the best approach. Creating a new sheet for every month would make it more difficult to generate reports based on ALL the data... Thanks, Wayne

Adding CSV data file to an existing spreadsheet?
Every month I create a new CSV file containing information on current stock and bond holdings. I would like to add this CSV data to an existing spreadsheet containing many months of data. I'm not sure how to do this, or if it is even possible! I COULD keep a cumulative file containing all the CSV re...

Re: Getting rid of horizontal lines
Solution found! Select the line BELOW the unwanted line and then go the Paragraph > Borders. Select the None option and then click on OK. The line should go away. Wayne

Getting rid of horizontal lines
After opening a file created by an OCR program I'm getting some horizontal lines (some light, some dark) that I just can't delete! The attached sample document shows both types of lines. (This example shows the lines problem in a table cell, but the same problem shows up when no table is involved.) ...

Re: Problem annotating images
After trying a number of different approaches I settled on the method described below which may prove useful to other users. It seem to be the most flexible and is not overly complicated: 1) Enter enough empty lines to hold the new picture (a screen shot in my case). 2) Paste the picture into the ar...

Re: Problem annotating images
I just discovered a minor problem with the solution mentioned above. Once the image + annotation have been converted back to an embedded object there is no way to move or change the annotation is any way - it has become a permanent part of the image. With MS Word the image and annotation keep their s...
