1. There's no way for you to default the "Text marker" to "Quotation mark".
However, PlanMaker 2024 or NX already have that option as default.

2. Ctrl + Shift + Down is the only way I know. What do you mean by link brakes? Could you please send us one file with link brakes?

Does the problem also happen saving tmdx files? Have you tried saving to the Downloads folder (no subfolders)?
Does it also happen with PlanMaker?

Yes, go to File | Open | Documents\SoftMaker\TextMaker 2024 templates\Your Language here\Normal.tmvx or Normal A4.tmvx
Change your font size in that template and then save it.
