Re: Metro UI, Windows 8, and WOA
The tendency to turn computers into "closed shops" (something you criticized in Apple's iPad before, IIRC) is rapidly becoming universal.

Re: MegaFont XXL 2.0 - For Your Information
The German text says:
“Fonts and font families labeled NEU! have been added in MegaFont XXL 2.0, fonts labeled XXL! have extended character sets (e.g. East European characters, expert symbols, typographical signs, fractions, lines and many more).”

Re: Support for Google Android mobile device operating syste
A free software platform doesn't necessarily mean all application programs have to be free also. Linux is free software, too, but SoftMaker Office for Linux isn't free.

Go, SoftMaker, go. Hey, you made this work on Pocket PCs, so why not on iPhones?

Re: Is Calligraphy a viable art in a world that has TextMaker?
Thank you for the link, Lance. Handmade calligraphy is a most beautiful art and will surely keep its place in the future. For the rest of us who lack this artistic gift: You can get some fine results by using the font Zapfino Extra, an astounding calligraphic handwriting font by Hermann Zapf with lo...

Re: iPhone sales are estimated to reach 10 millions soon
Well, that's what this thread is all about: Oedipus wants SM Office to become the first office suite for iPhone. An intriguing idea, but... the SoftMaker team is still tackling the (obviously quite difficult) issue of getting DataMaker working. The iPhone would be a completely new field of programmi...

Re: iPhone sales are estimated to reach 10 millions soon
I'm neither a developer nor even an owner of an iPhone, but your argumentation seems sound. iPhones are a fast growing market.

Re: Mac OSX again
NeoOffice is rather sluggish on all but the fastest Macs. Mellel is a fine program, but it's user interface philosophy is rather unusual and needs some time and experience to become comfortable.

Re: Amazon web site
SoftMaker can offer highly competitive prices for their software because they sell directly to their customers. Shopping at SoftMaker's website is as easy as shopping at Amazon's. So why pay more just for the sake of Amazon's profit?
