Re: Why did SoftMaker include Thunderbird?

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not even closer to the decision makers in the company. If I were, some feature requests I made years ago would have been realised by now...

Re: Why did SoftMaker include Thunderbird?

Just to make this clear: SoftMaker's boss isn't my boss. I have no professional association with SoftMaker whatsoever. SoftMaker volunteers are just experienced users willing to do beta testing and to help others in the forum.

Re: Why did SoftMaker include Thunderbird?

Dennis, you may still access the Beta forums via the "Jump to" dropdown in the lower right corner of the forum page. (I didn't know this myself until last week when a user in the German forum pointed this out.) Simon, as far as I learned from the contributions of SoftMaker officials here and in the ...

Re: Customising the UI

Individual UI customisations are saved in tmw16config.ini, tmw16tools.dat (toolbars) and tmw16keys.dat (keyboard shortcuts). (These are the files for TextMaker; for Planmaker, the file names start with pmw, for Presentations, with prw.) All these files are located in the subfolder "Settings" inside ...

Re: Cannot Open Windows Version Files

The TextMaker file format has been changed from 2012 to 2016. Support for the new 2016 tmd-format will be included in the next update of SMO HD for Android. Until then, you may choose "TextMaker 2012 (*.tmd)" as file format when saving in TextMaker for Windows.

It is a single payment. There are no annual fees.

Re: New Feature Suggestion - Jump Lists

I think, as the title "Recent" says, this list shows the documents last opened in PlanMaker/TextMaker/Presentations, just as the list at the bottom of the "File" menu. I don't think this has anything to do with which file types are associated with SoftMaker programs.

Re: Windows XP still in use?

Freddie, I completely agree with you (in fact, I wrote something similar in the German forum in January). By the way, it's quite the same with Mac OS X which reached the top at 10.6.8 and has been on its way downhill since then.

SoftMaker Office takes the units from the region and language settings in your Windows system preferences.

Did you choose the "Dark" theme in Tools > Options > Appearance? If so, is there a change when you choose another one?

Re: Windows XP still in use?

I'm running Windows XP in a virtual machine on my Mac. The Windows system has no internet connection, so security risks are minimized. I also have a Windows 7 licence here, but until now I was simply too lazy to set it up. I use Windows almost exclusively for SoftMaker Office, so XP meets all my nee...

Re: Irritating press coverage

Paul, thank you for your action! As martin-k already wrote, SoftMaker Office is quite often and without apparent reason ignored by the media, even here in Germany where it is developed. It always drives me crazy to see test reports with other applications coming out on top when I know SoftMaker to b...

Re: Bug: Bold does not work unless it is defined in the font.

From a typographical or design point of view, fake bold and fake oblique (this is not italic) are simply abominations and to be avoided at any price.

Re: A suggestion / improvement for Textmaker

Thank you for your patient explanation, Steven. Now I've got it, too. I didn't get the trick of inserting once more the character up to which the text is going to be deleted. This is a nifty solution, and I am sure it saves a lot of work, especially in translating and editing. On the other hand, it'...

Re: A suggestion / improvement for Textmaker

I'm completely with you regarding the lack of forward-delete on tablets. Not even the bluetooth hardware keyboard for my iPad has it, which is really a shame. But even after reading it four times, I am at a loss to understand your proposed solution. Let's take the first part of your example: Changin...
