Re: worksheet printing

Good questions! Let me start with question 2: Instead of creating a new document, you may prepare an empty document as needed (including a footer with page number) and click "Insert" instead of "New document" in step 7. Then the existing document will be filled with the data. As to question 1, I sim...

Re: worksheet printing

The trick is: As Adobe Reader does all the booklet printing business, you only need a simple single page layout in TextMaker. It is impossible to get a booklet from a two page landscape layout, for then Adobe Reader cannot sort the single pages into the sequence needed for the booklet. So the step-b...

Just to get this right: The resulting booklet shall be in portrait mode with two columns on each page?

Re: worksheet printing

This task can be done much easier by importing the data into a TextMaker database and doing the printing in TextMaker. There you have all the options you may want.

Re: Tables ending pages in TextMaker

Your document contains a page break behind the table. Normally, this in invisible, but if you click the icon with the paragraph sign in the icon bar (or go to Tools > Options..., tab "View", and check "All" in "Show unprintable characters"), a paragraph sign will appear just behind the table. Set th...

Re: Referring to numbers in lists - is this possible?

If it is a numbered list (numbered automatically via Format > Bullets and Numbering..., not by hand), you may set a bookmark ( Insert > Bookmark... ) at the beginning of each list item. Then you can enter a cross reference ( Insert > Cross reference... ) referring to a bookmark. Set to "Show number"...

Re: Shortcut for merging cells

As we are in the TextMaker forum and you refer to Excel: Is this a PlanMaker or a TextMaker issue?
But anyway: In both programs, you can define your own keyboard shortcut. Just go to Tools > Customise..., search for "Merge cells" in the left panel, then press "Shortcut keys" and define a shortcut.

The advanced backup options I described are only available in the full (paid) version of SoftMaker Office, not in FreeOffice.

Re: controlling line feed in tables

Thank you for the document, that made it easy to find the solution:
In fact, TextMaker creates a new line, but the height of the row is set to "Exact", so the new line is not visible.
Set the cursor in the row, go to Table > Row properties... and set "Height" to "Auto". Bingo!

Re: Default File Format?

The default file format is the format a newly created document will be saved in when it is saved for the first time. When you open an existing document and save it again, it will keep its original format (unless you deliberately choose a different one).

I couldn't reproduce this behaviour in TextMaker. Could you please provide a sample document where this effect occurs?

Re: controlling line feed in tables

Are you talking about TextMaker or PlanMaker?
If PlanMaker: right-click in a cell, choose "Cell..." from context menu, go to tab "Alignment". In "Properties" (bottom right) there is a checkbox "Wrap text". This should be checked.

Re: Paragraph line spacing

I am not quite sure if I got this right: 1. Does this mean the last paragraph must not stand alone on the last page, so that there are at least two paragraphs on the last page? 2. Does this mean that between (all) paragraphs there should be a spacing big enough to make the last paragraph on each pag...

Re: Moving/Transferring from MS Office Excel and Word

Word and Excel files can be opened seamlessly by TextMaker and PlanMaker respectively. Only macros are not supported.
