Re: database files - add fields?

Thanks Jim-J

Spreadsheets are powerful things, but the problem I find is terminology .

I have a project for my sons business on invoices, done various searches, but nothing found.
I'm about to start a thread on it.

Princy

Re: csv files for use as database. How?

Hi Martin K, Ooops, I had not seen that, I thought I had looked through that area and found only .dbf...... Sorry, I'll put it down to my ancient years and stupidity. Will attack it now and see if it all works for me, which it probably will. I'll shrink quietly out of this thread   :oops...

Re: csv files for use as database. How?

Hi tgindy, downloaded and tested, it's a fine utility, however not quite what I had in mind. I was hoping that SoftMaker would have something installed which actually worked on either .csv or .dbf. Maybe it's in the pipeline, time will tell. Thanks again for a useful utility, I'm still trying to wor...

Hi, Over the years I have used Softmaker software I have developed a considerable number of .csv files which I can use with other software for inputting information. Using the .csv as a database. How can Textmaker use these .csv files as .dbf files? Is there a converter somewhere? I don't see any wa...

Re: Advice please

Hi Sven,
Thanks for the reply.

I'm going to have to rethink the question, I know what I mean but seems wrong when I write it down.
This may also be part of a problem I had in another thread about the formulae not saving.
I'll investigate more on this...

Re: basic maker tutorial and samples?

Hi Dennis (and watchers) I just could not understand where this folder system was or should I say was not..... I booted up a laptop and on that there are some samples roughly where you said they would be. (Actually under a folder called Samples) But here on the main computer nowhere to be seen. So a...

Formulae and .xls files

Hi, I don't seem to be able to save worksheets with formulae's on in .xls form. Is that correct? I just found an interesting course online about creating an interactive Invoicing method. Did all the leg work, missed the message saying 'not all features could be saved in this format' or words to that...

Re: basic maker tutorial and samples?

Hi Dennis
Well that's what I thought, I have memories of things supposed to be there, but there is nothing I can find.
Can you give me a couple of filenames to search for please. I'll see if I can find the area that way....

It's all very strange.

Pivot Tables - Missing in pdf manual

Hi,

I have a feeling this has been raised before but....

Checking through the latest downloaded .pdf for PlanMaker 2016. There is no mention of Pivot Tables.

If I remember the pdf's were going to be updated in April or May this year. Oversight?

Re: Mass read-in of data

Hi Dennis, Thanks for the reply. Yes VB6 (VB2008) is my solution. Working on it now, I can manage the odd 15 minutes and have already got the files read into a datagridview, now working on extracting the last record for each file and putting them into another grid. After that I'm going to work on cr...
