Copying / Moving Frames

In the TM manual, on p. 64, under the heading "Inserting a document", I read that "Objects in frames (e.g. text frames, picture frames, etc.) will not be imported." This raises the question as to whether frames contained within a text extent can be copied and/or moved as part of that extent. In othe...

Re: Keyboard shortcut to switch between tabs?

Yes, thank you, I see that. I am requesting/suggesting the addition of a toggle capability, as that suits many people's working style (my own included, of course).

Re: Use keyboard to move among tabs in dialog boxes

Thank you. I see the pages at the end of the manual.

I believe it would be helpful to be able to generate a current list of shortcuts, as one adds and modifies the standard list. That's my intent in the Dorando keyconfig paragraph, above. I offer that input in the spirit of a suggestion.

Error: Not enough memory + Session restore

Win 7, TextMaker current. Task Manager reports about 1 GB free memory and 4 GB available memory. Yet I'm getting this message again and again. What might it mean? This raises another question: if I have to close and restart TM, is there a way to make it restore my current session (all my windows and...

Re: Use keyboard to move among tabs in dialog boxes

Yes, this works perfectly, thank you. Does this information appear somewhere in the manual or elsewhere in documentation? (I ask, because I imagine I'd find other things of interest in such a location.) More generally, is there a (way to generate a) list of all currently registered shortcuts? Aside:...

Re: Keyboard shortcut to switch between tabs?

Thank you, Martin. Given my desire to create a toggle effect, what action(s) should I customize?

Question about variable fields such as "Print date"

Suppose I am writing a simple letter, per the example in the manual. I put a print date field into the letter. If I print the letter tomorrow, it will have tomorrow's date. Now suppose I archive the letter and then open it a year later. Will the letter then show that day's date, i.e., not the date o...

Use keyboard to move among tabs in dialog boxes

How does one use the keyboard to move among the tabs in a dialog box? The usual/typical solution is to use the L/R arrow keys, but that does not seem to work here.

Possible error in TM manual beginning on p. 34 (English)

In the section titled "Beginning a New Document", we read: "To begin a new document, invoke the menu command File > New or press the key combination (Ctrl)(N). <image of dialog> A dialog window appears, in which you can select the document template for the new document." In my installation (Win 7), ...

Suggestion: Run-in heading paragraph style

Run-in headings are widely used, whether in government and corporate report writing or in other well-structured, detail-oriented documents. Basically, a run-in heading looks like this: Run-in Heading: Next paragraph begins on the same line, formatted as a standard body text paragraph (or with whatev...

Error in TM manual on page 26

In Tip #3, the User Interface button is located in Tools > Options > Appearance, not in Tools > Options > View. Also, in that same tip, "Tools > Option" should be "Tools > Options" ("s" on the end of "Options).

Recently used files in File menu

In Tools > Options > Files, I see a setting by this name. I set it to 50, because I tend to work on many, many documents at one time, and also because that setting (or higher) is available in MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, etc. But the setting seems to have no effect: a maximum of 10 files is listed at the...

Re: Keyboard shortcut to switch between tabs?

Thank you. Those are two-handed shortcuts for a very common action. Is there a way to modify them, or to add a second shortcut such as ctrl-tab, where ctrl-tab toggles between the current tab and the most recent tab? In my experience, this is a very common usage. In the alternative, would the dev te...

Remember on-screen locations of dialogs

I am new to SM Office, so I'm probably just missing something. When I move a dialog box, is there a way to make TextMaker remember its location on-screen, and then, of course, on the screen I choose?
