Re: Saving as .docx with TM 2016 and saving as .docx with TM 2018. What is the difference?

Am I correct in thinking that if I use the default .tmdx file format it can only be read and opened by Textmaker? For instance, if I uploaded and tried to open that file in Google docs it would be unreadable by Google Docs?

Re: Chromebook Support

You should be able to do it via Linux if you are willing to run Crouton or run regular Linux. Depending on the Chromebook you can run a full install of Linux. I have an Acer C720 Chromebook running Linux Mint Xfce 18.2 right now. I haven't tried Softmaker on it yet, but no reason it would not work.

Re: Is it possible to run both 2016 and 2018 on the same computer?

I've got both running on Windows 10 with no issue. I did make sure my file types under settings like doc and docx were associated with the 2018 version, so that is the one that opens those files. If I right-click on a file it only gives me the option of the newer 2018 version, but I imagine you coul...

1. Tools > Customize

Thank you!
Now that I've tried the newer menu it is growing on me :)

Re: Word Count

Choose File | Customize | Customize ribbon. Find the element "Count words" (you can type in parts of the name in the edit field). When you see the element in the left listbox, use the mouse to drag this icon to the status bar. There are also other such counters, such as characters or keystrokes. Ma...

Word Count[SOLVED]

I thought I read something about word count being in the 2018 version. For some reason I can't figure out how to add word count to Textmaker. There is a way to add it to the bottom of the page, right?
Thanks.

I also purchased the 2016 version a couple of weeks ago. No free upgrade info received yet.

Thanks! I'm guessing there is no setting to have it automatically do this when you open a doc you were working on?

Re: Starting where I left off

With respect, what you are saying does not make sense. When you save a document, the latest editing done on it should be part of that document when you open it again. I suggest that you describe the steps you took to save a document, then closed the document or exited the program, and then opened t...

Starting where I left off[SOLVED]

Textmaker doesn't appear to be able to open a document where I left off even after making changes and saving the docx document. Is there a setting for this or does Textmaker not do this?
