Re: Cancellation of hyphenation?
I could only test it with Word 2019 for Mac. This is the only version I’ve got.

Re: Cancellation of hyphenation?
Where is that mentioned in the User manual? What happens if the document is subsequently opened in Microsoft Word?
Well, it must have been in the manual at some point in the past – after all, that’s where I've learned it from. In the present version of the manual, it’s no longer there, I don’t ...

Re: Cancellation of hyphenation?
Set the cursor to the position before the first letter of the word and press Ctrl+-. (If this doesn’t work, try Cmd+-).

Re: SEction Break Problem
In Format > Columns, "Page break" is checked. This adds a page break at the start of the new section. I suspect this is the reason for the issue.

Re: My question but need to be answered immediately
If you have received a product code, why don’t you download the program? Are you expecting a CD-ROM?

Re: Font rendering
It is true that even different versions of MS Word are not entirely consistent in this respect. It is also true that using a full-fledged DTP program to prepare print publications will produce better results. However, just for a practical solution to the problem: If the manuscript's content is final ...

Re: Font rendering
IIRC, in a discussion many years ago, it was said that Microsoft does not reveal the exact way in which fonts are rendered in Word, either on screen or in print. This means that competitors had to try to mimic it as closely as possible. This would explain why different word processors produce ...

Re: Icons Too Small in Right-Click Formatting
I agree. My monitor has the same dimensions and for me, the icons have a decent size. But I use the Touch mode UI; without that, all icons are too small for me.

Re: No. 10 envelope
Being able to save custom paper sizes by name would be very useful.
For this purpose, document templates exist. You define the paper size, save as TextMaker template (*.tmvx) or Word template (*.dotx), name it accordingly (e.g. "No. 10 envelope" or "8 x 10"), and you can easily select the paper ...

Re: Suggestion: Add Formatting Options When Right-Clicking Selected Text
There’s no accounting for taste.
The mere fact that something pops up on its own bothers me. TextMaker’s context menu does essentially the same thing, but it only appears when I call it up. But when it comes to things like that, everyone has their own preferences.

Re: Suggestion: Add Formatting Options When Right-Clicking Selected Text
I must admit that I’m not a fan of any controls that appear automatically (without me doing anything). That’s the typical MS Word way of imposing its suggestions on the user. I prefer SoftMaker’s approach, where you have to explicitly call up what you want. Just my 2 cents.

Re: How do You Vertical Center Text on a Page For a Cover Sheet?
Hi Satch,
you will need a text box to do this. Create a Text frame, go to "Properties" in the context menu and set „Vertical Position“ to Centered / Page / 0 cm.

Re: Need Tips and Tricks Combining Photos With Text
It‘s in the general options, so it will work for all new documents until it is changed. If it is set to „Always“, all inserted images are placed in the upper left corner which is in most cases inconvenient (to say the least). Personally, I keep it at „Never“; this allows me to draw a rectangle with ...

Re: Need Tips and Tricks Combining Photos With Text
First of all, go to Tools > Options, tab "General", and set "Insert frames and drawings immediately" to "Auto". If this doesn’t help, set it to „Never“.
If this doesn’t solve your problem, please note that TextMaker has two different ways of inserting images: either as an object frame or as an ...
