Greetings,
FWIW, I tend to agree with Jossi. I continue to hate the way that the search feature now also screws up the corresponding side panel; encouraging SM to fiddle further is encouragement misspent.

Dear ST,
I wouldn't say my files are as much confidential as they are tedious. Still, I shall send the files to the e-mail address you supplied. You are welcome to post your findings here, so as to assist our brethren.

My solution has always been to manually edit the text. While TM's (mostly wonderful and powerful) search and replace function allows only a tiny number of special characters to be inserted for searching and/or ...

TextMaker 2024 OLE Issue
Greetings,
I assumed that the OLE problems I've had with TM and SEE (Softmaker's Equation Editor) "in the past"* were due to peculiarities with SEE or TM's handling of SEE, not with OLE objects in general. I was therefore taken unawares when RFFlow documents inserted into TM documents as OLE ...

Gosh, if it isn't my favorite author, greetings!

Re: Bring back the real (offline, .chm) help!
Greetings,
I should have mentioned the following two years ago, but what's two years between brother SMO'ers. ;-)
Like any/every quality software company, SoftMaker actually produces proper manuals for their products. (Truly, I can't imagine why anyone uses SM's lower quality competitor!) And, in ...

Dear lgsl,

N.B. I am writing this under far from ideal conditions; please make allowances.

Dear Lgsl,
Thanks for the reply. Regrettably, your reply seems to overlook three important points:
1. The character styles “SuperScript”, “SubScript”, and “Math” are all “based upon” the style “(floating)”, and not, as you wrote, “Normal”. Or at least they should be.

Hello, this is your OP'er. Yes, I should have put my post in the TextMaker forum, not in the General forum. One lives and learns. Or at least lives.
If the forum administrator would care to move the thread, s/he is most welcome to do so.
Sorry!

Possible Bug with “(floating)” Character Styles
Greetings,
I believe that there is a problem with the current version of TextMaker and its handling of character styles. (The problem probably goes back some time, but that is a separate issue.) Perhaps someone can either correct the problem, or correct me.

Re: Oddity when opening Textmaker with altered normal.tmvx
Dear Panch,
FWIW, I think you have absolutely nothing to be concerned about. I always assumed that the effect you/we observed was due to TM having a built in default "normal" template that it uses until another is loaded (assuming one can be). It is, at least for me, a justifiable irrelevancy.
