It's the same FreeOffice. However, the version installed on your computer's hard drive requires an internet connection for activation, while the version installed on a USB drive can be activated from any other computer that has internet access.

No product key needed for the trial. Just download and install. The 30-day trial starts automatically when you launch the software.

Yes, you're right. Due to technical constraints on Linux and other non-Windows OSes, BasicMaker (which is similar to VBA macros) is not implemented. Currently, there are no plans to add them outside Windows.
