It's the same FreeOffice. However, the version installed on your computer's hard drive requires an internet connection for activation, while the version installed on a USB drive can be activated from any other computer that has internet access.

You need to create the shortcut key for "Paste plain text" following the instruction from this link.

No product key needed for the trial. Just download and install. The 30-day trial starts automatically when you launch the software.

You will need a key to activate the product when you subscribe or buy a license after the trial ends.

Yes, you're right. Due to technical constraints on Linux and other non-Windows OSes, BasicMaker (which is similar to VBA macros) is not implemented. Currently, there are no plans to add them outside Windows.
