Re: Megafont NOW equivalent for Jenson?

Take a look at Cambridge and Cambridge Serial. Both are close matches to what you are looking for. Alternatively if you use Windows take a look at Centaur. Other non Megafont option: Bembo (There are some versions under public domain you can use). Notice: None of this options are stroke by stroke re...

Re: 1211 Update Fails

Martin: I have encounter this issue since a few versions back. Is rather annoying when one is doing a distro update (zypper dup). One should not have to use sudo zypper -E zypper for security reasons. Why is necessary to preserve environment variables when upgrading SMO? The package should be agnost...

Re: Font name equivalents

Big publishers usually use Garamond or a variations of it (Adobe Garamond, Garamond Nova, New Garamond...). Others use Baskerville, or even Times New Roman. Yes there are exceptions to the rule, but mostly all publishers use serif fonts for body text, mostly with oldstyle serifs (like Garamond) or T...

Re: ODT not up to standard

Thanks. This is an important improvement, even if TM does not support all extended features of ODT 1.3, it would mean that information would not be lost and would play nicer with LibreOffice and other applications that import/export to ODT. Not to mention that plenty of governments adopted ODT as th...

Re: Another font question

You can get Merriweather for free from google fonts if you wish. To be honest, to me, Merriweather looks like Times New Roman with modern serifs instead of transitional (as TNR have). I think the only reason this font is kind of popular is just because is free. If I where you I would stick with Mega...

ODT not up to standard

When documents are exported to ODT, TM creates a ODT 1.0, instead the current 1.3 standard used by LibreOffice and other software relies on the ODT standard. Is also important to notice that the 1.3 release added lots of features. This can be seen in the document headers generated by TM: <office:doc...

Feature request: EPUB3 Support

TM has the ability to export to epub, however when it does, it exports to EPUB version 2. Modern readers all support version 3, and several retailers also suggest the use of version 3 over 2. EPUB3 has several advantages over EPUB2. For instance: footnotes and endnotes are handled in a more sensitiv...

Re: Megafont XXL 2.0

I took the time to make a list of equivalents between MeganFont XXL and MegaFont Now 2019. It is incomplete and it may be not 100% accurate, but if it helps... here we go: XXL => Now A760 Roman => Alba B690 Script => Berliner Schreibschrift B591 Deco => Beale Charming B733 Deco => Bistro B790 Slab =...

Re: Slow and laggy

I have noticed similar behavior with long documents since a few years ago. TM can be laggy when editing an existing document. The far you are from the end of the document the laggy it gets. I have reported this issue and some little fix has been done to improve it. I suppose there is more noticeable...

Re: Linux Equation Editor Workarounds?

This have been something that has been asked for a long time and still, nothing. It does not bothers me, since I do not have any need for such feature, but if I needed it, quite frankly I would simply use Latex and do the entire paper there. You could give LibreOffice Math a try. There are also some...

Re: When OpenGL engine is enabled, dialog boxes do not get rendered unless unfocused or hovered

The issue is simply is the combination of Wayland and Nvidia. Wayland per se is a bit of a mess, since it delegates lots and lots of stuff X11 did to the compositors and toolkits. This is why after 10 years Wayland is not yet and will not be for at least 5 or 10 more years the default. KDE's wayland...

I know is in the MegaFont XXL. The user manual has a copyright that goes from 1991 to 2003.

Re: wish this had more templates and clip art

I agree with Woody44. Templates are just a minor convenience. I would prefer to if SM focus on improving their suite. Grammar checker for non-german languages would be great, as well as better document support for LibreOffice and MS. LibreOffice document support is specially lacking, and it is a sha...

Re: upgrade 2021 to 2024. Need to uninstall 2021?

It depends on if you still want to keep a copy of 2021 in your sistem or not. If you don't want to keep 2021 then yes, you need to uninstall it.
