Re: Application Icons not showing

Check /usr/share/icons and make sure the icons for SMO are there, at least in the the hicolors folder. If in any of the subfolders can be found, hence the problem because hicolor is the backfall icon theme (This means: If the icon theme you use does not have an icon, it searches for it in hicolor ...

Re: Macros

Seems like some contexts is needed...

TextMaker has been around for a very long time. PlanMaker has been also around for quite some time too. Initially it was a windows-only release, then they started to expand. BasicMaker, as far as I know, is modeled closely to MS VBA, heck even their own SMO ...

Supertech answered that for you: «Due to technical constraints on Linux and other non-Windows OSes, BasicMaker (which is similar to VBA macros) is not implemented.»

Re: Macros

LibreOffice is mostly a java application and for macros, I think, in part it relies on python plus some very limited support of MS old basic macros. OnlyOffice is an electron app so it probably goes for a solution based on js similar to that offered by MS on their web version of office. Probably ...

Re: Cannot Install Office NX on Bazzite via rpm-ostree - 404 on Public Key Retrieval

You could extract the contents of the rpm file and follow the guide to install SMO into a USB flash drive, as a base to have it installed in $HOME instead, tricking it to think is a portable version. At least in theory.

This are the kind issue you run into when you use niche distributions that also ...

Re: [woff2/ttf] Round trip brotli compress & uncompress

Check the metadata of the packages (Ctrl+Shift+F), that's where things may change. When you do the woff2 => ttf or the other way around with fontforge it won't add anything to the metadata and font tables, other tools may do so.
There are also other things that may explain as to why with one tool ...

Re: [woff2/ttf] Round trip brotli compress & uncompress

A tool like FontForge would be able to tell you that since it logs all issues and errors contained on the font file and it provides the required tools to fix most, if not all issues. I could also be used to do the conversion. Just keep in mind that the font licencie must allow you to manipulate the ...

Re: Megafont Now on MacOS

Loading hundreds of fonts will slow down your system, You should only load/install what you need.

MacOS has its own font manager (or did, haven't use macos since 10.15). Look for it in the Applications folder.

Re: Videos not working in Presentations 2024

It works because web browsers have all video codecs they need build-in. You should raise this issue with Mint and let them know you can't play mp4 videos outside the gstreamer platform

Re: Videos not working in Presentations 2024

I do not use mint, nor do I use Presentations regularly, and those times I have I haven't linked any videos.

Take a look at https://wiki.linuxmintusers.de/index.php?title=Mint-meta-codecs . They list all media codecs available for Mint, this may help.

Is possible you need libmpeg and/or ffmpeg ...

Re: Videos not working in Presentations 2024

AS the error says... You are missing a codec. Ensure you have all the gstreamer codecs (good, bad, ugly), as well as other codecs that are not part of of the gstreamer architecture: libx264, ffmpeg and so on. Mos distributions have an article explaining how to install all media codecs.
You may then ...

Re: TM does not generate valid ODF documents

Yes the validator identifies the provided file as ODT 1.0, but if you look closely:

Lorem.odt/mimetype: Error: There shall be no extra field for the 'mimetype' zip entry of ODF package 'Lorem.odt'!
Lorem.odt/mimetype: Error: For more information on ODF package conformance see https://docs.oasis ...

TM does not generate valid ODF documents

Out of curiosity I used https://odfvalidator.org to validate if a very basic odt document (just, text. No styling, no comments, no changes tracked) created in TextMaker was valid or not. It is not. The document is NOT conformant ODF1.0.

Here are the results for the attached dummy document:

Lorem ...

Re: Wish list for future versions of SMO

Native support for open source files. Textmaker already opens and saves odt - cheers!; now, planmaker and presentations should open and save odp and ods. This is still an obstacle for those who want to transition with open source format - specially with the recent concerns regarding MS and North ...
