Re: BUG: Install returns "file not found"
Bazzlite is simply a themed Fedora. This is why it makes me think is a Discover/PackageKit issue and why he should install SMO using dnf. If the rpm is corrupted or something then we will know. Those UI's, like Discover usually, when there is an issue with the package simply give a generic error mes...

Re: Strange problem
This seems to be an issue related to Linux Mint. Apparently their latest release had issues when people did an upgrade. It does not have anything todo with SoftMaker. If this was the case then people who use Ubuntu and Debian (the distributions that Mint uses as abase) would have been reporting issu...

Re: BUG: Install returns "file not found"
Install it using the package manager via a terminal, not an UI like discover to know what the problem really is.

Re: Basic Sans and Basic Roman are not metrically compatible with Times New Roman (TNR) and Arial
I do not think Basic Sans and Basic Roman are meant to be metrically compatible with Times New Roman and Arial. Most likely they are closer to Sans and Sans Serif than anything else.

Re: Editing Services
My God, that has nothing to do with "trash the file." We aren't talking about the occasional page break issue, we are talking failure to load . The issue here is mostly about bad software. I make that statement as a software developer with 4 decades in the field developing software for Mi...

Re: Print as/Save as/Export : monochrome TIF
Depends on the uses. As the production of PDF from tiff is easier or has been considered for longer than with other image formats, I still prefer it as an intermediate file format. As regards long-time storage of photos, without compression, tiff is the closest to most of the proprietary raw-format...

Re: Editing Services
Yes, a good editor should be able to adjust to the editorial style required by the client. In my experience, the "big three" in the United States are the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS), the Associated Press (AP) style book, and the APA style book. True. But that's not the issue here. The ...

Re: Editing Services
LibreOffice is a train wreck that got hit by a plane crash and is rolling downhill towards a daycare center at noon play. I agree, their UI is awful and their MS Office compatibility mediocre. Even on a machine with 20 physical core and 120 physical GB of RAM I could barely edit this book . For the...

Re: Editing Services
I don't let anyone open/edit my TextMaker document file with an MS product. MS has a deliberate habit of trashing files that weren't created with their tools. I had to stop using LibreOffice because no two versions of LibreOffice could edit the same file without completely trashing it. The heroic e...

Re: Print as/Save as/Export : monochrome TIF
You could just write a bash script to convet it from pdf to tiff then delete the pdf via poppler, imagemagik or something like that...
To be honest, the golden years of tiff are long gone, there is no real value from using the format now days.

Re: apt upgrade - primary key - no binding signature
There are two things there: First you have an issue with the Sublime Text repository. (Lines 2 to 8 ) Second, the Softmaker repo, if you read, states that the SHA1 is not considered secure since... 2026 ... This means is a Trixie issue. Things that happen when you use Debian Testing or Sid. When one...

Re: Textmaker doesn't switch to italic font for Cyrillic texts
This is not a FreeOffice issue but a Font issue. You are assuming that FreeOffice is aware of you having MS Office installed in a wine bottle and it is reading/indexing fonts from there, this is not the case. If you want to use Times New Roman on non-wine envirolments then you must install/copy the ...

Re: Changing localization in PlanMaker
To change/select localization of templates: Go to: File => New => More => Available Languages => Select Languages needed. This will enable the default Planmaker templates for that given language. Then simply select the template on the language you need. You can also pin the templates so you can acce...
