Documentation request
One of the things I really REALLY like about SoftMaker Office is the option to use a ribbon menu or a "classic" menu. To me, the ribbon menu system (whether it's in SoftMaker Office or Microsoft Office) makes no sense at all. I can't work with it. I had to run Microsoft Word with an aftermarket ...

Feature request
I format books for both print and for e-book (both Kindle and EPUB) using a word processor. Being able to export from TextMaker directly to EPUB is a blessing, but there's room for improvement.

Re: Suggestion: Add Formatting Options When Right-Clicking Selected Text
There’s no accounting for taste. :) The mere fact that something pops up on its own bothers me. TextMaker’s context menu does essentially the same thing, but it only appears when I call it up. But when it comes to things like that, everyone has their own preferences.
Agreed. To each his/her/its ...

Re: Suggestion: Add Formatting Options When Right-Clicking Selected Text
I loathe, detest, and despise Microsoft, but in this case I don't agree with you. The little pop-up that opens in Word when you select a section of text does not "suggest" anything. It shows you what the current typeface and size are, and allows you quick access to those and a few other settings if ...

Re: Suggestion: Add Formatting Options When Right-Clicking Selected Text
An interesting suggestion. If I may interject, I think even more useful than a pop-up from a right click would be a basic formatting dialogue box that appears automatically, as this one does in Microsoft Word:

Re: Print form
From the Page Setup menu, go to the 'Options" tab.
At the bottom left, in the field for Scaling Mode, select "Specify number of pages in total." The field to the right of that will change from a scale factor to a number of pages. Set that to "1" and it will scale the print range to print on one ...

Re: Applying "smart" typography to imported text
Are you pasting as formatted text, or unformatted text? If the font in effect at the point of insertion supports smart (curly) quotes, pasting as unformatted text should allow the smart quotes to be entered automatically.

Re: Feature Request-A Thesaurus for TextMaker in Free Version
The commercial version of FreeOffice (SoftMaker Office) includes a thesaurus. While it would be nice to have that in the free version, I think it's unrealistic to expect a completely free and very functional software package to include everything that's in the paid version.

Re: Font request
I know. I am requesting that you develop italics for both of them. They're nice fonts, but essentially useless without true italics.

Font request
The Megafont NOW collection includes a really nice typeface named Adderley. However, it only offers a Regular type file. Is there any possibility of adding a set of true Italics for this typeface? The computer-generated pseudo-Italics are unacceptable.
Same request for Amos.
Thanks.

Looking for an equivalent/clone
Is any of the fonts in the Megafont NOW collection an equivalent to Bitstream Aldine 721?
I'd like to add Aldine to my installed fonts, for book typesetting. I can buy it from Bitstream, but if I already have a similar font in the Megafont NOW package I'd rather use that.

Very good review, and (with the exception of dark mode) I agree with all you wrote.
Clarification: For those who prefer dark mode, the fact that FreeOffice offers it is very much a good thing. I simply don't like it, but I am a visually oriented person. I want to see what my documents will look ...

Re: Moving rows with Cut>Insert
Excel doesn't do this for me.dhermosillo wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2020 11:16 pm Moving rows with Cut > Insert seems overly manual in PM2021.
In Excel, I just need to right-click on the row and select Cut, which removes the row and copies it to the clipboard.
Then I paste it in the new location with Insert Copied Cells.
