Re: Setting the default print range.

Hi, is it possible you have the option "Ignore print range" enabled in the File > Print dialog? Hi, Miguel, Thanks, that's the problem. It never occurred to me the settings were in those two locations. In my mind, they belong under the Format Menu. This is one of those areas where there is no right...

Setting the default print range.

It seems I cannot get this feature to work. No matter what I try, the entire worksheet will print, not the cells I've selected for printing. On page 193 of the printed manual, under Print Range, 3rd paragraph, it says "By default, this input field is empty, ..." What input field is being referred to...

Re: IF function help needed

You can nest IFs and the solution to your problem is: =IF(($A27/GCD($A27,$B27)&":"&$B27/GCD($A27,$B27))="8:5","16:10",($A27/GCD($A27,$B27)&":"&$B27/GCD($A27,$B27))) Thanks, Miiguel, exactly what I was looking for. And, I was so close in my experimenting. All I was missing are the quotation marks ar...

IF function help needed

It's been 50+ years since I needed to write any complex algebraic formulas, so the memory is not so great. LOL I'm creating a spreadsheet listing all the various screen resolutions I can find. Once the resolutions are known, I want to calculate the aspect ratio of those resolutions. For example, I p...

No, there are no changes in the way OLE is handled.
Thanks, Sven. I'll be posting the other issues I've stumbled across on the TextMaker 2016 forum.

Object linking and embedding

Is there much of a change or improvement to the OLE process in TextmMaker 2018 from TextMaker 2016? I use 2016, and I've been experimenting with this feature for a class on word processing later this week. I've found some things that do not work correctly, and posted a couple of them in the TextMake...

I know it doesn't help you much at the moment, but the next version of FlexiPDF will let you split a large PDF file into batches of individual PDFs, such as every two or three pages.
Will it be possible to link FlexiPDF to TextMaker to automate splitting of the PDF into the individual documents?

Use the print preview. Here you can preview every single letter (dataset) of your mail merge and print it or export it into a PDF file.
True. But... What if I'm a small business, and want to send out 250 files? There's not much time savings in having to create 250 individual files. :-)

You can use a PDF printer instead of your physical printer in the print dialog.
Hi, Sven,

That is what I tried. That results in a single PDF file containing multiple letters. I would like multiple PDF files that are individual letters.

Print Merge and PDF files

I've created a form letter with database fields to generate letters to addresses in a database. The database is set with the document. Is there a way to use Print Merge, or something else, with a PDF printer driver instead of a printer, and have multiple pdf files instead of physical prints? That wo...

Re: Another OLE issue with Planmaker data

2. Close Planmaker, without closing spreadsheet. Did you mean to close the spreadsheet but leave PlanMaker open? If I close PlanMaker it automatically closes the file too. Hi, Sven, I did intend to close Planmaker. IIRC, it doesn't matter if I close the spreadsheet before closing Planmaker, or just...

Re: Modify database structure, import data

The field names from the original database are now displayed in the fields of the first record. Original data in the first record are not displayed. Reopening the dbf file in PlanMaker is as it should be. When saving the dbf file in Planmaker, check "First row contains field names". Thanks. I doing...

Re: Modify database structure, import data

Third answer: As long as it is standard .dbf, the output of any program can be opened by TextMaker. For example you can open a dbf database in PlanMaker, modify it, save as dbf again and use it in TextMaker. This is also a possible workaround for your first and second question. I had not thought of...
