Why values from hidden cells using autofilter are overwritten

Sometimes I want to copy values to some rows in a worksheet.
Then I use Autofilter - set the filter and copy the values to the range of a column. But unfortunately also rows that are hidden by the filter where changed. That's not what I want to happen.
