Colour variants
I'm using the new version of NX, having tried the beta over the last few weeks. I know there was a backlash against it, but I have to say I much preferred the subtler red colour variant you introduced in the first beta. Is there any chance you might offer both options in a future release?

Re: Is there going to be a Beta for 2026 that isn't NX?
I think there may be a lesson here about pricing. I'm not a Luddite either and I too want absolutely nothing to do with AI when I'm writing English, and really don't want to have to pay for it. But the Deepl translation tool would be useful and worth some money (bearing in mind that you can use ...

Re: ODF
Re the "pointlessness" of tmdx... I didn't really mean to suggest it had no value in itself, but you yourselves don't make a point of that value when you describe docx as the native file format, which I've long taken to imply that it was pretty much the same as tmdx. It would be useful to know what ...

First, congratulations - you've made some changes that would seriously tempt me to upgrade (to the 2026 version - I'm a writer and I'm not interested in AI). I like the improvements in the colour options (always hated the red), the MS Office-like formatting box when you right click.. and the ...

Re: Cloud Access
Now you mention it, no. That is, I can see Google Drive, and my pCloud drive, but not OneDrive.
There's a can of worms here, and I don't think it's entirely down to Softmaker, though it's complicated for me by the fact I'm using a Microsoft Surface Duo (one of the reasons I bought it was to have a ...

Default settings location
Is there a way to change the default configuration/settings location? In Options I can see how to change the template location, and also how to import/export my modifed configuration files, but I really want to stop SMO looking for them on OneDrive, which is so sluggish that it often creates file ...

Re: Cloud Access
When I use the Textmaker file/open icon it offers me my cloud services as well as the main on-device file locations - in my case (Google) Drive, OneDrive and pCloud (my preferred option). All of three are also installed as apps on my phone, and I haven't had to tweak any other settings to make this ...

beta or not?
Small question - I've enrolled on the beta programme, and indeed the app page on Google Play says I'm a beta tester, but it also says the app will be updated now on the beta channel. But it looks exactly the same as it did before, including the file dialogue, and there's nothing in the title bar or ...

Re: New dark mode
I'm glad, but the update installed itself automatically and all I saw was a newly dark text background, and then looking through the usual options for changing the UI there was nothing obvious (why would anyone think to look at the options on the quick menu, or even notice that a new rectangle had ...

New dark mode
What have you done? I have worked enough with typography and design to know that having reversed out text against a dark background is a complete no no for long texts, so I've never had any sympathy with the crudity of so many dark modes. Yes I understand the argument about screen glare ...

ARM version?
I see Microsoft has announced that there will be an ARM version of its Surface Go, which I've found to be a great machine for working on the move. I imagine the Softmaker suite will work under emulation, and I realise this is probably a niche interest (since you've already got ios and Android ...

Re: Styles list
That's useful to know, but strange because I hadn't touched the default setting (and have never had cause to look at that dropdown).
I'd add more generally that when I first saw the list of changes in the new version I thought "is that it?" But as I've been using it I've appreciated the refinements ...

Styles list
The styles sidebar is crammed full of styles I didn't create, and which make it harder to pick out what I want. But if I then click on "manage styles" the dialogue lists only the styles I have created or modified, so I can't see a way of deleting the clutter. I've checked back and this isn't a ...

Re: Opening files from file manager
Same for me ... OneDrive is central to my workflow. There's also been a long standing problem with OneDrive and SMO - I work regularly across two machines and the sync is not reliable (basically you have to remember to wait a good few minutes before shutting down whatever machine you've been working ...
