Re: Does Office 21 prevent one from overwriting newer versions?

1.) What I'm essentially asking for is the ability to co-author. MS Word (both online and off-line desktop versions) are capable of this functionality. https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Document-collaboration-and-co-authoring-EE1509B4-1F6E-401E-B04A-782D26F564A4 Maybe this is a feature that S...

Re: Does Office 21 prevent one from overwriting newer versions?

//1. Do you know any desktop application that does this? // Is there a reason why desktop applications shouldn't do this? //2. Autosave never overwrites the original file.// What I can tell you is that having a file open in one of two clients overwrote the newer changes made by the other client. It ...

Re: Does Office 21 prevent one from overwriting newer versions?

//I am not sure I understand your question. SoftMaker Office for Linux doesn't have any built-in cloud file handling...// If I was working on one file, on the cloud, with two instances of SO18 (one on Windows and one on Linux let's say), then SO18, on either platform, would overwrite any newer chang...

Re: Does Office 21 prevent one from overwriting newer versions?

I guess, based on the total radio silence of the last 24 hours, that Office 21 will still overwrite newer files without warning; and tmdx compatibility in Android is still where it was 2 years ago.

Does Office 21 prevent one from overwriting newer versions?

This isn't something I can test yet, because I can't get 21 to install properly, but one of the reasons I largely switched from Office 18 to Googledocs was because of the cloud. To put it simply: If I was working on Document A from System 1 & 2, SO18 would (incorrectly) allow me to overwrite newer c...

Okay. I re-installed and this time must have pressed the right button(?) (They can't be read). I was able to start up Office.

Re: Beta Fails to Install Properly on Kubuntu 20.04

The attached images are from the initial/first start up. So, the icons are what they are. Entering the product key failed, though the reasons for that are hard to discern? As you can see from the attached images, no information appeared to be given and the text boxes were barely readable. So, sendin...

Re: Equation editor in the linux version?

Glad to hear that you'll be forwarding the request to the development team, although this is precisely the same response given in 2016 and 2018. Is there really any intention to add an equation editor?

Beta Fails to Install Properly on Kubuntu 20.04

Installed the beta with the sudo apt install ./* command (which should automatically install any dependencies). Booting from the menu or KRunner resulted in nothing, neither Softmaker nor any errors. Booting it from the command line: /usr/bin/textmaker21 %F Resulted in the attached screenshots. (Deb...

Re: Thanks for your work on the Linux Version | & Feature Req.

Thanks. Glad to hear about SO on Android. Additionally, I appreciate that the Android SO interface looks as full featured as the desktop version, but would love an option to switch to a vastly simplified and uncluttered interface when mainly writing.

Thanks for your work on the Linux Version | & Feature Req.

It's been a while since I've posted here. Just wanted to give a thumbs up for all the improvements made to SO for Linux. Will definitely be investing in your next version. That said, I had to quit using it just over a year ago due to some bugs that have since been sorted out. Since I use multiple de...

Re: Problem with Brazilian Portuguese characters

No it didn't. Alas. I upgraded and tested. The behavior is odd. In the latest version, I can still create the following characters, äàá for example. But I can't create an en-dash – or an em-dash — (among other symbols). I can't really say what's going on, but SO-931 (the latest version) obviously in...

Re: Problem with Brazilian Portuguese characters

This is great news. :)

Martin, maybe Softmaker should consider a "Known Issues" Document with Linux installations so this sort of issue doesn't get dragged out like this in the future? Just my 2 farthings. Prospective users would certainly appreciate it.

Re: Problem with Brazilian Portuguese characters

...but downgrading immediately fixed the problem. Somewhere and for some reason the newest versions of Softmaker for Linux (will test in windows) are interfering with the compose key. Have you downgraded on the exact same system? Yes. Downgraded on the exact same system: 1. Which distribution exact...
