Re: Document Formats for Envelopes

My apologies for not following up in a more timely fashion. The attached file is an exemplar #10 envelope of the size and format used typically in the U.S. This file is in .tmd format and can be saved and retrieved without problems. The file was originally created using the envelope tool included in...

Document Formats for Envelopes

There seems to be some pretty peculiar behavior when envelopes are saved in different formats. A standard #10 envelope saved in .tmd or .tmdx formats is saved correctly. If the same envelope is saved in .doc, .docx or .odt, Textmaker automatically adds a header and a footer, which frankly don't make...

Re: Any way to have widow/orphan control ON by default?

Try this and see if it works for you. Edit whatever template that you are using for a default. In most cases it will be "normal.tmvx" but you may have changed it to something else (and I personally recommend that you do). In the template you will see the paragraph styles in the sidebar. Edit the par...

Re: Shade alternate rows

Try this technique and see if it works for you: 1. Select a row (it can even be in another worksheet) and format it with the color or pattern you want using Format>Shading. 2. Select the row below it and format that for your alternative shade or pattern. This is assuming that you want two colors to ...

Have you turned off "Smart Quotes"? On the Edit Tab under Options, try selecting "None" in the drop down list for Smart Quotes.

Horizontal Line Object in Ribbon Interface

Why is there no horizontal line object on the ribbon interface? I know I can customize the ribbon to install one but that is a pain and it isn't in the same place with other objects. It is still in the same old place on the traditional interface.

Re: R-click to change font characteristics

The capability already exists in Textmaker (and has for the last few releases I know of) but it's slightly different from Word. After your right-click, select "Character" from the pop-up and that brings another pop-up that allows access to most any font characteristic you might want.

Try Insert=>Document to insert files. The command is located under "Insert" on both the traditional and ribbon interfaces.

Re: Dropdown lists

The command that you're looking for in PM is "Input Validation". The Help file has a pretty complete description, just search on that phrase.

Re: Vertical Formatting Date Fields

Try this and see if it works for you. I tried it on your example and it seemed to work fine. Create a new cell style with the format as date/time. In the cell format dialogue there is an "Alignment" tab that allows you to specify rotation. Select 90 or 270 degrees and then apply the style to the cel...

Re: Creating a letterhead with images in header/footer

I think I see the problem and it's a bit subtle but easily fixed. The object frame is positioned in the header but it is anchored in the text area. You'll see that when you select the object and note the paragraph that has the anchor. The fix is simplicity itself. Simply cut the object frame, make s...

Re: Creating a letterhead with images in header/footer

I can see the problem but can't really explain it. However there does seem to be a work around that seems to solve the problem. The difference is changing the frame to an embedded object. Try the attached change and see if it works for you.

Re: Proposal of multiple opening for documents

As Sven says, it's not possible to have multiple instances of Textmaker running at the sane time, but it is possible to tile documents side-by-side and examine and edit them. Open multiple documents individually and then use the Windows=>Tile Windows command. The documents will be shown next to each...

Re: custom kbd commands

If I understand your question, there is keyboard command already available. Try Ctrl+F6 to shift between tabs. There is a brief discussion in the Help file if you search under the phrase "Document Tabs". You can access that mapping (and change it) if you go into the keyboard mappings and change comm...

Re: How to define *.doc as default save format?

Try the Tools=>Options=>Files menu and set the default file format to "MS Word 97-2003". That should set the default to ".doc"
