User data privacy/security in SM FreeOffice/Office

Post by jackgm » Fri Dec 29, 2017 10:16 pm

Dear SoftMaker
I'm willing to try your freeoffice product for my job as an alternative to MSOffice.
Since my job implies dealing with clients' sensitive data I must be sure to adopt the right technical solutions in order to protect those data (now more than ever because of the upcoming GDPR).
My question is if your software may in some way transmit over the internet any data inserted by the user (e.g. document contents, or just usage data) even in pseudo-anonimity.
Does it also contain any form of coded backdoor that might be used by crackers to enter my pc and steal data?
Many thanks in advance.
Awaiting your reply, I stand.
Sincerely,
GM

Our Office does not send any user information via internet. It only needs an internet connection to our license server to check if the product key (licence) is valid.
