Should I install SM 2008 to SD card instead of device?

Postby jakobkraft » Tue Sep 16, 2008 5:00 pm

I keep getting 'there is not enough memory to open presentations' message, even though the powerpoint files are not that big at all.
I originally installed Softmaker 2008 to my ppc device memory (Dell Axim x51v). If I reinstall to 4GB SD card, will I keep getting that message or will that fix it?

Thanks in advance...!

Hello,

if you install SoftMaker Office 2008 on your memory card instead on the internal device memory you can make more program memory available for SoftMaker Presentations to run your presentation (settings=>System=>Memroy).
That can, of course, solve your problem.

It didn't work. Even though I installed to a 8GB SD card, still getting 'Not Enough Memory' message. Maybe, just for Presentations, I should turn on the 'convert to ppc' option...?

Hello,

if you still receive the 'Not Enough Memory' message, your presentation is probably just to big (contains to much images who needs a lot of memory). You need more program memory to open the file. Please try to free more program memory in the system settings of the device. Another solution could be to spilt your presentation into 2 or more small presentations to get them running on your device.
