Presentations 2008 for Windows CE

Post by DaveW »

Hi, I'm afraid I'm running quite a ways behind everyone else...
Just wondering if it is still feasible to install Presentations 2008 on my HPC2000 (Jornada 720). I installed Textmaker 2006 and Planmaker 2006 when they came out years ago. It works great, but there was no Presentation program available in 2006. (I'm using the 2010 version on my laptop.)

Thanks!

SoftMaker 2006 was the last Office which run on a Jornada 720. So it is not possible to install Presentations 2008 or newer on that device.

Hi, Before receiving your reply, I found the .cab files for both the 2008 and 2010 Presentations software, and did trial installations on my Jornada 720. These programs are designed to run on Win CE 4, and the Jornada is a Win CE 3 device. However, quite awhile ago, I obtained "RedGear" software (now discontinued) which simulates the CE 4 environment. Both the 2008 and 2010 "hires" programs open and run. Another program called "WinWatch" accomodates the difference in the display resolution, for navigating around in the program.
My remaining problem is that Presentations does not recognize the HP VGA card in the PCMIA slot. So, the VGA output is just the 640 x 240 display on the device, rather than the 640 x 480 "Show" output. Therefore, the video output is only the top half of the desired page.
Thanks for taking time to reply to my outdated request!
