When I use the Textmaker file/open icon it offers me my cloud services as well as the main on-device file locations - in my case (Google) Drive, OneDrive and pCloud (my preferred option). All of three are also installed as apps on my phone, and I haven't had to tweak any other settings to make this happen.
I did have problems with the previous version of Textmaker crashing when using files from the cloud apps, though those problems were not unique to Textmaker (don't get me started on Word), and wondered if there was something tricky about the way the office apps try to cache files on Android, but so far at least the beta seems to be functioning more reliably.

Have you been able to save a file to OneDrive in any of the 3 SoftMaker apps

For me when I navigate to "File / Open" and then Press the Hamburger menu at the top left, I can see OneDrive listed and can open any file in OneDrive

However when I navigate to "File / Save" and press the Hamburger menu at the top left, I cannot see OneDrive as listed amongst the cloud locations. My Google Drive is there but no OneDrive so cannot save to OneDrive

Now you mention it, no. That is, I can see Google Drive, and my pCloud drive, but not OneDrive.
There's a can of worms here, and I don't think it's entirely down to Softmaker, though it's complicated for me by the fact I'm using a Microsoft Surface Duo (one of the reasons I bought it was to have a usable writing machine when on the move, paired with a folding Bluetooth keyboard), and so there may be some specialised mods to Android at work. That said you'd have thought Microsoft's OneDrive would be sorted, but it's not, even when using Word. I'm using Textmaker spanned across the two screens, so it probably thinks it's being used on a tablet.
I would prefer to use pCloud, since I have a lifetime subscription, but there are still a few issues with Textmaker. I'm hoping that having tracked down some of its quirks it will be more reliable. The quirks? It's best to use Save As on the hamburger menu rather than save, which takes you into the pCloud screen, then you have to highlight the file you want to overwrite with the same file name. Otherwise you can end up with file conflicts. Then when the file is saved and you're returned to Textmaker the document area shows as black, but if you switch to another app then return to Textmaker your document is still there and properly visible and you can carry on working.
Gdrive seems a bit more straightforward, which makes me wonder whether there's something going on with the way the apps cache files on Android. But even with Gdrive you get upload failures, and I don't really want to have to run Gdrive on my desktop.
The WPS suite is the only one I've found so far that seems to manage the cloud uploads properly, but I don't like it very much and it certainly has none of the depth of Textmaker. I've only tried the free version but I can't see anything in the paid for version which would be usefully different. I've also not used it long enough to be sure it wouldn't have problems with extended editing.
I should stress that if anything the Beta seems more reliable in these respects than the release version, so I don't think we're talking about bugs in the new code.
