TM 2006 for Pocket PCs Window Mobil 6.1?? Keyboard Problems?

Post by mowrer98 » Sun Nov 16, 2008 5:23 pm

Just got the new AT&T HTC Fuze. Nice phone. However I'm having a couple Texmaker 2006 glitches:

1) Slide out Keyboard - Nothing registers on the screen when in Texmaker
2) Pop up keyboard - Although I see what I'm typing, the spacebar key doesn't work.

I'm on the latest patch (468) and still having a problem.

So do I need to upgrade to newer version of the software? OR is there a fix out there?

Thanks,
George

Hello,

unfortunately there are no more bugfixes for the old TextMaker 2006. Please install the trial version of SoftMaker Office 2008 to check out if the problems still occur with TextMaker 2008 or not.

You can download the free trial version here:

Please let us know if you still have problems with SoftMaker Office 2008 on your device.

It turns out that the problem is the use of the T9 keyboard by the hardware keyboard on the Touch Pro/Fuze. You can get around this by disabling the T9 keyboard (no loss for me, as I never use it). You just have to change two registry values:

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Layouts\e0010409\Ime File = "\windows\compime.dll"
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Layouts\e0010409\Layout Text = "COMP IME"

With these changes, TextMaker 2006 receives input from the hardware keyboard.
