Data entry forms for the database

Post by colonel_panic »

Hello

I'm enjoying exploring Textmaker. IMO, it's much better than the competition.

I'm just curious, though. Is there any way of making a slightly friendlier form for entering data into the database? I have a form I enter text into. Is it possible to copy some of the fields from it to create a new record?

When you have opened a database via Tools > Edit database..., you may select a record, duplicate it via Edit > Duplicate record and then add or change data in the duplicated record. If this isn't sufficient for you, please describe in some more detail what you are going to do.

My database has quite a lot of fields, which are not laid out in a particularly easy to read way with the names of the actual database (which are themselves quite hard to read.

What I'd like to do is create a form to enter data.

I'm afraid there is only the standard form view to enter data. It is not possible to create an individual form for entering data in TextMaker.

I might have to make one. Not to worry.

It's still a great piece of software!
