Linux version dead?

Post by infinitemonkey » Thu Jul 27, 2006 6:05 pm

Since it's now been a couple of years since the last update, is it safe to say the further development of the Linux version has been cancelled?

The last mention of a new version in this forum was nearly a year ago, and the response was that the company would get to it once the Windows version was done.

Linux development here at SoftMaker is alive and kicking. The SoftMaker Volunteers already have alphas of TextMaker 2006 and PlanMaker 2006 for Linux in their hands, and the public beta will start soon.

Well, here we are three and a half months later. How's the new Linux version coming along?

It will be released either this week or early next week. The beta comprises TextMaker 2006 and PlanMaker 2006 simultaneously and it will also include FreeBSD builds.

Will you have dual licenses.. like in the past one could buy a windows and a freeBSD license of a product.

I would love to get a dual Windows/FreeBSD license type of deal.

We will have a Windows and Linux license. However, you can also get a Windows and FreeBSD license, if you want to have one. :)

Simply order a Windows and Linux bundle, but add a comment that you want to get the FreeBSD version instead of the Windows version.

If I ordered a windows version of Office.. and later want to get my FreeBSD version will there be an "upgrade to bundle" pricing.. or will I jus get a second license?

If you cannot find the product in our shop, simply send an email to our Sales Team and they will give you a pricing especially for this case.
