How to install TM from rpm in DSL?

Post by runbei » Fri Jun 16, 2006 6:06 am

Can someone tell me how to install TextMaker from an rpm file into Damn Small Linux? (I'm a Linux noob.) I have a registered copy that I got with commercial SuSE Linux 10.

Thanks.

The rpm from SUSE Linux will not work on DSL. Please download the tgz file from our server and unpack it.

Code: Select all

tar xzvf textmakertrial.tgz
cd textmakertrial
./tml

Can I use my TM serial number for SuSE to register the downloaded trial file? (I also own registered TM for WinXP.) - Thanks.

You do not need to register the trial version, only full versions.

You only have a serial for TextMaker 2006 for Windows. This serial will not work for TextMaker 2002 for Linux. You have to purchase a separate license for it.
