Emailed my latest progress using "disableopengl". Will disabling open gl impact functionality?

We found there is a more current driver for your graphics chip:

Could you install this and report back if OpenGL works with this?

I appreciate your keeping at it. However, here is what I get when I try to install that driver...

"This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software."

Interesting. You use Windows 7 64 bit, the driver is for Windows 7 64 bit, and it refuses to install? It's even supposed to support Vista.

That's weird. At least you have a workaround for the moment.

I'm having the same issue on my other (equally old) computer. I'll try the driver on that computer later. I may try installing this driver again on this machine whilst holding a gun to the CPU. Maybe it just doesn't understand the seriousness of this.

I tried the driver version just below that (152258). It installed but made no difference in opening Presentations. Don't think I want to try various versions. Sounds like Russian Roulette. Sooner or later, one of them would trash my system. The Intel® Driver & Support Assistant says there aren't any better drivers. :(

This problem is fixed in the latest service pack. We now detect "problem GPUs" and disable OpenGL on these.

I can now remove my little "-disableopengl" in my shortcut.
