Language Menu mixes English and German

Post by dskirk » Fri Oct 06, 2017 5:04 pm

In Textmaker, under the Tools>Options>Languages tab, it offers German grammar and German spelling, yet my specified default language is English.

These are options for proofing German text. Many users have an English user interface but still want to create German documents.

I respect there may be users with English and German text, but there is an option for German syntax, but not English. If the default language for user is English, it's confusing to see just an option for checking German syntax.

It does seem a little odd that, at the very least, the „Duden Korrektor“ options are not greyed out for languages other than German.

The German beta versions also betray their linguistic roots in the alert that pops up on launch, which says "This beta version expires on 31. October 2017." In English we would always write "31" or "31st"; the format "31." is distinctly German.

In latest build I notice no change here. It begs the question of whether there is grammar checking for English. There's nothing 'wrong' here, but I find it confusing.
