Hi - I have done this in the following way. First I signed a sheet of blank paper, then scanned it as a 300dpi PDF. I opened the PDF and used the snipping tool in Windows to grab the area where my signature was. I saved this as a .PNG file. I then opened that .PNG file in the open source "paint.net" application. This allowed me to create a transparent background for the signature, but is not necessary if you don't need transparency. Once this was done, I used the menu item Edit, Signature, Define and then selected the .PNG file I created naming it "signature". I was then able to use the menu item Edit, Signature, Insert and pick the file I created. Hope this helps...
