GoTo Bookmarks

Post by Duncan-- » Tue Oct 04, 2016 9:09 pm

I can't find any method in the docs regarding using code to jump to a Bookmark.

Can it be done?

That is not yet possible but on the agenda for future versions:

In case this is the sort of thing you're after: you can use Sendkeys to manipulate the Textmaker UI.

Here's such a script to open a document & jump to a bookmark:

Code: Select all

Shell "TextMaker.exe"
Sendkeys "^o", wait
Sendkeys "NameOfYourFile{Enter}" ' include extension
Msgbox "click OK when document has loaded"
Sendkeys "^g", wait ' opens GoTo dialog
Sendkeys "+{Tab}{Home}b{Tab}BookmarkName{Enter}{Esc}"
' sets GoTo selection to bookmarks, enters bookmark name, executes GoTo & dismisses dialog
Such scripts need a way to make sure file ops are complete before subsequent keystrokes are transmitted, or they will be lost. Macro languages I've used in the past have a Sleep command with which you can add a sufficient pause. Not seeing one in Basicmaker, I've used the Msgbox as a quick-and-dirty method. I imagine Basic experts can explain a way of getting the script to handle this.
