Add document using template

Post by Duncan-- » Mon Oct 03, 2016 7:25 pm

The manual says the syntax is:
Add [Template]

and that full path and file extension are optional so it should be simple, but I can't get even the most basic sample to work, and the error messages are useless apart from highlighting the faulty line.

I've tried these, and many others (also with full path and extension), to no avail-
Set newDoc = tm.Documents.Add "Normal A4"
Set newDoc = tm.Documents.Add ("Normal A4")
Set newDoc = tm.Documents.Add("Normal A4")

What is the correct syntax?

Got some help on the German forum.
In case someone later has trouble with this the correct suntax is-

Set newDoc = tm.Documents.Add ("English\Normal") ' for the default installed templateSet newDoc = tm.Documents.Add ("Template") ' for a user template in the default location with default (tmv) extension
tm.Documents.Add ("c:\path\Template.dot") 'for a fully specified user template

I made the mistake of putting my template in the 'English' subdirectory
