IRR formula error

Post by hwl.gmx » Sat Nov 11, 2017 11:22 am

IRR formula function in Planmaker seems to be broken: each time I put series of cashflows which make the IRR exceeds 100%, the formula would return an error #NUM!

In other office suites, the IRR formula returned correctly, what is wrong here? I'm ready to pull the trigger to upgrade to Office 2018, but this one little error is really a deal breaker since I do plenty of IRR calculations.

Please advise.

Give me a sample formula or file, and I'll investigate what's going on.

Attached.

It's a simple calculation of IRR, however every time the IRR exceeds 100%, it will show the #NUM! error.

Something is wrong with the file. Both in Excel and in PlanMaker, there are no formulas at all, just plain numeric values – and the error code #NUM in B5 (a literal error code, not a formula).

I see that the value overflows in PlanMaker but not in Excel. I'll create a ticket for the developers to look at.

Yes that is correct. FYI this error appears in your 2016 and 2018 programs (I'm using the paid 2016 version and 2018 trial version).
It would be great if this issue can be fixed, it's the only gripe I have before uninstalling the other office suites and started fully using your programs.

Thanks!

This issue has been solved now and should no longer occur in the next service pack.

Great!

Can you please kindly check the other thread I've made in the Planmaker 2018 section? Here is the link:

It's about freeze pane bug, minor issue but annoying for those working with wide spreadsheets.
Thanks in advance!
