Language Selection

Post by PLaszlo » Sun May 17, 2015 4:52 pm

This appears to be a minor bug.
After installing the "hun" (whatever that means) packages the selected languages do appear in the dropdown box.
Upon selecting the appropriate language and than going back to the document, the default English (GB) comes back into the box.
This is also the case when selecting another language.
The workaround seems to be to write a few characters, highlight and then select the required language.
This seems to retain the selected language but it is not a solution.
Once a language is selected in the dropdown box, it should remain until changed as per Word all? versions.

Additionally, I raised this point before concerning the measurement units.
SM currently uses metric and there is a convoluted way of changing to inches but this is not retained.
The choice between metric and imperial should be easy and transparent.
The U.S. market will not wear this!!!!!!!

TextMaker uses the measurement settings from Windows. It is likely that a user will have set his Windows to the preferred measurement system.

To change, invoke "Start menu->Control panel->Region and Language->Additional settings->Measurement system->Select U.S

The correct way to change the language of your template is to go to Format/Character, select the language of your choice and click on "Set as default".
